State office has birth and death records since 1853, and divorce records since July 1951.

 State Archives and Libraries

They currently have vital records from 1832 to 1949, census records from 1890 (1866, 1878, and 1890 not complete), a photo collection, maps, immigration records from pre-1900 (divided by nationalities), immigration records from 1900 to 1921, library collections, and city directories.
