State office has birth records since July 1914. Birth records for city of New Orleans are available from 1892. Death records are available since 1942. Older birth, death, and marriage records are available through the Louisiana State Archives, P.O. Box 94125, Baton Rouge, LA 70804.

Marriage and Divorce Records

	Notes: • For marriage records in other parishes, contact the Clerk of Court in the parish where the license was issued. Cost will vary. • For divorce records, contact the Clerk of Court in the parish where the divorce was granted. Cost will vary.

 State Archives and Libraries

They currently have birth records after World War I, death records after World War I, Civil War records and pensions, copies of marriage records, maps, census records from 1810-1920, land records from the early 1800s and a few from the 1700s, and court records.
