 Vital Records

State office has birth and death records since January 1910. Certified copies of most Missouri birth and death records are also available from local county health department or the St. Louis City or Kansas City Health Departments. For details, please contact these offices directly.  If event occurred in St. Louis (City), St. Louis County, or Kansas City before 1910, write to the city or county Health Department.

Marriage and Divorce Records

State office has marriage and divorce indexes since July 1948.

	Cost: No fee.
	Notes: • For county marriage records, contact the Recorder of Deeds in the county where the license was issued. • For county divorce records, contact the Clerk of Circuit Court in the county where the divorce was granted.

 State Archives and Libraries

They currently have vital statistics, wills, probate records, census records, Supreme Court records, tax records, photo collections, French and Spanish land grants prior to the Louisiana purchase, abstracts from federal government land sales, church records, cemetery records. A self addressed stamped envelope is required for information. Only one question will be answered at a time.
