 Vital Records

State office has some birth and death records since July 1893. Years from 1894 to 1920 are incomplete. Copies are generally mailed within 2-3 working days after request is received. It has marriage records since July 1925 and an index of divorce records since July 1949. Some items may be verified. Certified copies of divorce records are not available from State Health Department and should be ordered from the county.

 State Archives and Libraries

They currently have federal and state census records, naturalization records, local histories, cemetery listings, WPA biographies, oral histories, regional history books, a Native American collection, all North Dakota newspapers, obituaries, a death index on computer, a listing of war veterans, photo archives, atlases from 1890, and maps.
