 Vital Records

Must have exact information for births.  State office has had records since July 1907. For King, Pierce, and Spokane counties copies may also be obtained from county health departments. County Auditor of county of birth has registered births prior to July 1907.

State office has marriage and divorce records since January 1968. Records can also be obtained from the county (see notes below).

 State Archives and Libraries

They currently have territorial census records from 1871-1892, death records, property records, indexes to birth records from 1890-1920, naturalization records, a map collection, probate records for 1854-1889, World War I service cards, federal census records from 1850-1910, donation land grants, and tax records.
