State Office has scattered birth and death records earlier than 1857. Records before October 1, 1907, are very incomplete. It has marriage records since April 1836. Records before October 1, 1907, are very incomplete and cannot be searched without a county of marriage. Divorce records after October 1, 1907 are also available. A stamped, self-addressed business size (#10) envelope should be included with the request.

 State Archives and Libraries

They currently have census records from 1790-1920, vital statistics, newspapers, published family histories, printed records, wills, baptisms, passenger lists to 1890, Canadian census records, French-Canadian marriage records, unpublished church and cemetery records, war records, visual and sound archives, maps, and naturalizations. Estate records are located at the University of Wisconsin libraries.
