Genealogy Library is a subscription service — you can purchase access to the data and tools it contains on a monthly or annual basis. To determine if it will be useful to you, you can do a search from the Online Data Libraries page before buying and see what kinds of matches you get.

Search box

Go to the search box at the top of the page and enter the name of the ancestor you'd like to find, select Genealogy Library from the drop-down list, and click Search. After Genealogy Library searches its collection of records, it will show you a list of the matches it found in two categories: Historical Records and Family Books and 1850 Census Images.

Historical Records is made up of data sets from the Family Archives collection. It includes marriage records, military records, and many other types of information, all of which are indexed and fully searchable.

Family Books and 1850 Census Images is made up of over 3,000 rare family history books and indexed, high-quality images of 1850 U.S. Census microfilm. The family history books can be searched on any combination of names and keywords. Let's take a look at what you can find in each section.
