To search for an ancestor in the World Family Tree, click the My Genealogy.com menu and then choose My Online Data Library. Use the search box at the top of the page.

You can enter a first, middle, and last name. Keep in mind that the more information you enter, the narrower your list of results will be — you may want to start with just a last name at first, unless it is a common one. Choose World Family Tree from the drop-down list and click Search. For this example, we'll search on John Gunby.

The search returns several matches on that name, including a date range and a location when available. Let's assume that based on existing information about this ancestor, World Family Tree Volume 23 is likely to contain the John Gunby we're looking for.
