How do online subscriptions work?
Receive instant, anytime access to the entire Genealogy Library online collection. Each new Genealogy Library volume
added to this collection will be added to your subscription at no extra
cost. Already a remarkable value, the savings only increase as the collection
grows!
Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of your subscription
period. So, you'll never have to worry about unexpectedly losing access
because you forgot to re-subscribe. Once you have the details provided by the marriage index on this data set,
you may be able to contact the locality in which the marriage took place to
request a copy of the original marriage record. Original marriage records can often provide you with more
information, such as the names and birthplaces of the bride's and groom's parents,
addresses of the bride and groom, information about previous marriages, and
witnesses' names.
This data set contains alphabetical listings of approximately 179,000 individuals
who were married in Alabama between 1800 and 1900. You can discover information
on marriages that took place before marriage licenses were required, including
previously uncollected information from 41 Alabama counties. Please note that
not every county is included in this index, see the list
of counties covered for details.
Original marriage records
located in Family History Library microfilm, microfiche, or books. Location of
source is referenced with record.
