| More details about Ohio, 1787-1840 Land and Tax Records: |
The five titles reproduced here were originally published by the Genealogical
Publishing Company and represent a comprehensive collection of land and tax records
for Ohio. In total, approximately 96,000 individuals are mentioned.
The records here can
serve as substitutes for state census records and include the period of time before
Ohio was granted statehood in 1803. While quadrennial enumerations were taken
every four years from 1803 to 1911 to determine voting districts, not all counties
are available nor is each township for each county included.
