- Did he have a hobby? How did he become involved with the hobby? Describe it and why he enjoyed it. Did he build up any collections over the years? What items did he create because of his hobby?
- What else did he enjoy doing in his spare time? Did he like listening to music, reading, seeing films or plays, going camping, playing cards or chess?
- Did he play any sports? What were his favorites? Was he talented at the sports he liked to play? Did he compete in any races or tournaments? Did he ever belong to a recreational sports team? Describe his experiences on the team.
- Did he spend time outdoors? If so, what did he like to do? Walk, hike, or garden? Was he a naturalist or environmentalist?
- Was he a member of a club or association? Describe the club and why he decided to become a member of it. In what activities did he participate with the club?
- Are there any activities that he did with his family on a regular basis? Did they spend time together on the weekends? Did they take special trips together?
- If he had a family of his own at this point in time, were there any activities that he stopped doing? For example, did he have less time, or was it too expensive to take the whole family along?
- Did he do any charity or volunteer work? Describe what he did and how it made him feel.
