  1. At what age did you first think about the term friendship? Did you look at it as being a special relationship or were your "friends" just other people in the world?

  2. Where did you meet most of your friends? In your neighborhood, school, or church? Did all your friends associate together or were there separate groups? Where did you hang out?

  3. What did you typically do with your friends? Did you ever get into trouble? If so, was there one person who tended to make more trouble than the rest?

  4. Describe some of the times you spent together. Did you go to games, concerts, or parties? What else might you have done together?

  5. For many people, teenage years are a difficult time. Did you and your friends help each other through this period? Did you feel that you could tell your friends anything?

  6. Did you ever have any fights with your friends? What about? Did you ever get into a physical fight?

  7. Did you ever lose any friends? Under what circumstances? How did it make you feel?

  8. Was there ever any competition between you and your friends? In what areas? Sports, academics, attention, girlfriends, or boyfriends?

  9. Was there one friendship in particular that you cherished the most during this period of your life? What made it more special than the rest? Did you ever lose touch with this person? If so, under what circumstances?
