Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Family history isn't limited to trees containing names
and dates. Personal stories and remembrances all kinds of
special material can be an important part of it, too. Put
these items together and you have yourself a family history book.
Some family history software programs can help you set up books
automatically from the trees and other items you have created, even
adding a table of contents and index.
Whether you choose to create your family book manually
or with a software program, a collection of family trees and stories
is a precious heirloom you can pass down to your children and grandchildren,
or pass around at a family reunion. It's gratifying to see the story
of your family take solid form.
