Scrapbooks are a great way to collect and hold all kinds of memorabilia, but a scrapbook usually means paper of some sort — whether it's a picture, newspaper clipping, or what have you. A multimedia scrapbook just means that you can have all kinds of media — pictures, video clips, audio clips, for example — as part of the scrapbook for years to come. Adding these to a computer file requires additional materials, such as a digital camera.

Many genealogy programs allow you to create such scrapbooks as part of your family history file. They may even enable you to print family trees with pictures of your ancestors in them, instead of just text.
