1. Thomas¹ Jefferson (Peter², Thomas³, Thomas⁴), son of Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph was born in Shadwell Estate, Goochland, VA 2 Apr 1742/3. Thomas died 4 Jul 1826 in Monticello, Albemarle, VA, at 83 years of age.

He married Martha Wayles in The Forest, Charles City, VA, 1 Jan 1772. Martha was born in Charles Ciity Co., VA 30 Oct 1748. She was the daughter of John Wayles and Martha Eppes. She married Bathurst Skelton 20 Nov 1766. Martha died 6 Sep 1782 in Monticello, Albemarle, VA, at 33 years of age.

Thomas Jefferson and Martha Wayles had the following children:

2 i. Martha Jefferson was born 27 Sep 1772.

3 ii. Jane Randolph Jefferson was born 3 Apr 1774.

4 iii. Jefferson was born 28 May 1777.

5 iv. Mary Jefferson was born 1 Aug 1778.

6 v. Jefferson was born 3 Nov 1780.

7 vi. Lucy Elizabeth Jefferson was born 8 May 1782.
