17. Josias³ Payne Sr. (George⁴, William⁵) was born in Northam, Goochland, Virginia 30 OCT 1705. Josias died MAR 1784 in Possibly, Goochland, VA, at 78 years of age. His body was interred in Pittsylvania, Virginia.

He married twice. He married Anne Fleming in Goochland, Virginia, 1732. Anne was born in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent, VA 1705. Anne was the daughter of Charles Fleming and Susanna Tarleton. He married Anne Fleming in VA, 1732. Anne was born in Jamestown, James, VA about 1710. Anne was the daughter of Charles Fleming and Susanna Tarleton. Anne died in Possibly, Goochland, VA. Her body was interred in VA.

Josias Payne Sr. and Anne Fleming had the following children:

18 i. Josias² Payne Jr. was born <1744>.

19 ii. Robert Payne was born in <, Pittsylvania, Va> 1740. Robert died 1791 at 51 years of age. He married Ann Burton SEENOTES.

+ 4 iii. John Payne was born about 1745.
