He married Elsie L. Moore bef 1924. Elsie was born ca 1885.⁽⁴⁾ Elsie was the daughter of William Moore and Minor. Elsie died 3 Apr 1969 in Monongalia County, West Virginia, at 83 years of age.⁽⁵⁾

William Jesse Knotts and Elsie L. Moore had the following child:
