2. James Buchanan² Duke (Washington³, Taylor⁴, John Taylor⁵, John Taylor⁶, Henry⁷, Henry⁸, Thomas⁹) was born in Orange Co., North Carolina 23 Dec 1856. James died 10 Oct 1925 in Somerville, New Jersey, at 68 years of age.⁽²⁾

He married twice. He married Lillian Fletcher McCredy Sep 1904. Lillian was divorced from James Buchanan Duke 1906. He married Ninaline Holt in New York City, New York, New York, 23 Jul 1907. Ninaline died 1961.
