He married Dicey Jones in Orange Co., North Carolina, 14 Aug 1801.⁽¹⁴⁾ According to Brandenburger's The Duke Family, this was Taylor's second marriage.

Dicey was born in North Carolina ca 1790.⁽¹⁵⁾

Taylor Duke and Dicey Jones had the following children:

11 i. William J.³ Duke⁽¹⁶⁾ was born 18 Jul 1803. William died 1884 at 80 years of age. He married twice. He married Sarah Roberts bef 1830. He married Ann Blackwell bef 1850.

12 ii. Mary Duke⁽¹⁷⁾ was born 22 Aug 1805. Mary died 1881 at 75 years of age. She married James Stagg 16 Dec 1826.

13 iii. Reany Duke⁽¹⁸⁾ was born 20 Dec 1807. Reany died 1848 at 40 years of age. She married James Clinton.

14 iv. Aurelia Amelia Duke⁽¹⁹⁾ was born in North Carolina 8 Mar 1809.⁽²⁰⁾ She married James Riggs bef 1836.

15 v. Kirkland R. Duke⁽²¹⁾ was born 6 Jun 1812. Kirkland died 1864 in Florida, at 52 years of age.

16 vi. Malinda Duke⁽²²⁾ was born in North Carolina 13 Mar 1815.⁽²³⁾ Malinda died 1874 at 59 years of age.

17 vii. John Taylor Duke⁽²⁴⁾ was born 22 Mar 1818. He married twice. He married Tabitha Whitemore. He married Sarah Yancy.

18 ix. Doctor Brodie Duke.

19 x. Robert Duke⁽²⁵⁾ was born in North Carolina ca 1825.⁽²⁶⁾ Robert died 1863 at 38 years of age.
