31. John⁸ Barney (Jacob⁹, Jacob¹⁰) was born in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts 1 Aug 1665. John died May 1728 in Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts, at 62 years of age.

He married Mary Throop in Bristol, Bristol, Massachusetts, 4 Nov 1686. Mary was born in Barnstable, Massachusetts 6 Apr 1667. Mary was the daughter of William Throop and Mary Chapman.

John Barney and Mary Throop had the following child:

+ 21 i. Jonathan⁷ Barney was born 27 Aug 1703.
