Ernest Miller¹ Hemingway (Clarence Edmonds², Anson Tyler³, Allen⁴, Jacob Street⁵, Jacob⁶, Abraham⁷ Hemenway, Abraham⁸, Samuel⁹, Ralph¹⁰),⁽¹⁾ son of Clarence Edmonds Hemingway and Grace Hall, was born in Oak Park, Cook, Illinois 21 Jul 1899.⁽²⁾ Ernest died 2 Jul 1961 in Ketchum, Blaine, Idaho, at 61 years of age.

He married four times. He married Elizabeth Hadley Richardson 3 Sep 1921. Elizabeth was born in St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri 9 Nov 1891. Elizabeth was the daughter of James Richardson and Florence Wyman. Elizabeth died 23 Jan 1979 at 87 years of age. He married Pauline Marie Pfeiffer 10 May 1927. Pauline was born in Parkersburg, Butler, Iowa 22 Jul 1895. Pauline was the daughter of Paul Pfeiffer and Mary Alice Downey. Pauline died 1 Oct 1951 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, at 56 years of age. He married Martha Ellis Gellhorn 5 Nov 1940. Martha was born in St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri 8 Nov 1908. Martha died 16 Feb 1998 in London, England, at 89 years of age. He married Mary Welsh 14 Mar 1946. Mary was born 5 Apr 1908. Mary died 26 Nov 1986 at 78 years of age.
