Born May 6, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky, George Clooney is the son of television personality Nick Clooney and the nephew of singer Rosemary Clooney. Before pursuing an acting career, Clooney tried out for the Cincinnati Reds and attended Northern Kentucky University. Although he rose to fame during five years on the television drama ER, Clooney was a cast member on a number of programs (including Roseanne, The Facts of Life, and Sisters) in the late 1980s. Clooney remains a most-talked about star and has been named one of the Fifty Most Beautiful People and 1997's Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine. |
