He married Mary Elizabeth Butler in Franklin Co., Ohio, 24 Feb 1869.⁽⁴⁷⁾ Mary was born in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio 15 Jul 1850.⁽⁴⁸⁾ Mary was the daughter of Courtland Philip Livingston Butler and Elizabeth Slade Pierce. Mary died 16 Jan 1897 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio, at 46 years of age.⁽⁴⁹⁾ Her body was interred 18 Jan 1897 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio, Greenlawn Cemetery.⁽⁵⁰⁾
