As George Burns wrote in the biography he did on Grace, he never knew how old she was. He said he never asked. The date of birth given on her death certificate is listed as 26 Jul 1902. Most newspapers who listed her age when she was alive and at the time of her death said she was born in 1906. However, according to the 1900 U.S. Census, Grace was born in July 1895. While one cannot ordinarily accept the dates completely as listed in the census, one thing is sure, Grace was born before 1900 as she is listed in the census. Grace died 27 Aug 1964 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, at 69 years of age.⁽²⁾
