Ancestry
of Halle Berry
 |
| The youngest
daughter of Jerome and Judith Berry, Halle was born in 1968 in Cleveland,
Ohio. When she was a teenager, Halle was named Miss Teen America
and later was named first runner-up in the 1985 Miss U.S.A. pageant.
Her aspirations to be in the entertainment industry took her to
Chicago and then to New York as a catalog model. After roles on
television, Berry's first big break came when she played opposite
Samuel L. Jackson in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever. Since then,
Berry has worked steadily and has earned praise such as a Golden
Globe and Emmy Award for her work in HBO's Introducing Dorothy
Dandridge. |
