9. John J.³ Nicholson (Joseph⁴, Joseph J.⁵) was born in Staten Island, New York about 1898.⁽⁵⁾ John died 24 Jul 1955 in NeptuneTownship, Monmouth County, New Jersey, at 57 years of age.⁽⁶⁾

He married Ethel May Rhoads in Neptune Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey, 4 Aug 1918. Married at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Ethel was born in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania 9 Mar 1898. Ethel was the daughter of William J. Rhoads and Mary Alice Wilkinson. Ethel died 6 Jan 1970 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, at 71 years of age.

John J. Nicholson and Ethel May Rhoads had the following children:
