Ancestry of James Garner

James Garner was born in 1928 in Norman, Oklahoma. He earned a Purple Heart while in the Korean War and began his acting career with a non-speaking part in the Broadway play The Caine Mutiny Court Martial. James Garner may be best known for his starring role on The Rockford Files for which he won an Emmy in 1976. Garner was recognized again in 1985 when he was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in Murphy's Romance.
