He married Martha Purdy Ewing 18 Feb 1836.⁽²⁷⁾ Martha was born Sep 1814.⁽²⁸⁾ Martha died Feb 1882 at 67 years of age.⁽²⁹⁾

James W. Morrison and Martha Purdy Ewing had the following children:

13 i. James H.³ Morrison was born Jan 1837.⁽³⁰⁾ James died 8 Sep 1837 at less than one year of age.⁽³¹⁾
