Kennedy (Patrick5) was born in Dunganstown,
Wexford County, Ireland about 1823.(111)
Patrick died November 22, 1858 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at
35 years of age.(112) The death certificate gives the cause
of death as consumption, but the family records indicate that he died of cholera.
His body was interred November 23, 1858 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
He married
Bridget Murphy in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, September 26, 1849.(113)
Bridget was born in Dunganstown, Wexford County, Ireland 1821. Bridget was the
daughter of Richard Murphy and Mary (-----). Bridget died December 20, 1888
in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at 67 years of age.(114) Her body was interred in Malden, Middlesex
County, Massachusetts.
Patrick immigrated, about
1849. Destination: Boston, Massachusetts, USA.(115) According to legend, Patrick was driven
out of Ireland by starvation. This was untrue. He believed that America offered
economic opportunity and political freedom and therefore set out to a new land.
Patrick's will was probated
in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, December 13, 1858. Patrick Kennedy
was the son of a prosperous farmer from County Wexford, Ireland. He emmigrated
to America at the age of 26 to improve his fortunes. He left a country in the
middle of a devastating famine and arrived in an immigrant ghetto where thousands
of his countrymen had fled to escape near certain death. On board he had met
Bridget Murphy, also from County Wexford and soon married her. He worked as
a cooper and died of consumption in 1858. He only survived 9 years in this country.

Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts August 6, 1851.(116)
Mary died May 7, 1926 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at 74 years
of age.(117) She
married Lawrence M. Kane in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, January 1,
1883.(118)
Lawrence was born in Wexford County, Ireland November 29, 1858. Lawrence was
the son of Philip Kane and Margaret Murphy. Lawrence died July 19, 1905 in East
Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at 46 years of age. His body was interred
in Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
She was christened in East
Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, August 10, 1851.
25 ii. Joanna L. Kennedy was born in East Boston, Suffolk
County, Massachusetts November 27, 1852.(119) Joanna died February
23, 1926 in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at 73 years of age.(120)
She married Humphrey Charles Mahoney in Boston, Suffolk County,
Massachusetts, September 22, 1872.(121)
Humphrey was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts December 12, 1847.
Humphrey died August 25, 1928 in Saratoga Springs, Saratoga County, New York,
at 80 years of age. His body was interred August, 1928 in Malden, Middlesex
County, Massachusetts.
She was christened in East
Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, December 4, 1852.
26 iii. John Kennedy was born in East Boston, Suffolk County,
Massachusetts January 4, 1854.(122) John died September
24, 1855 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at 1 year of age.(123)
His body was interred in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was
christened in East Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, January 5, 1854.
27 iv. Margaret M. Kennedy was born in East Boston, Suffolk
County, Massachusetts July 18, 1855.(124) Margaret died April
2, 1929 in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at 73 years of age.(125)
Her body was interred 02 Apr 1929 in Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
She married John Thomas Caulfield in Boston, Suffolk County,
Massachusetts, February 21, 1882.(126) John was born in Weymouth, Norfolk
County, Massachusetts January, 1861. John died July 12, 1937 in Lynn, Essex
County, Massachusetts, at 76 years of age. His body was interred in Malden,
Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
She was christened in East
Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, July 22, 1855.
