He married Jenna Louise Hawkins in El Paso, El Paso, Texas, 29 Jan 1944. Jenna was born in Little Rock, Pulaski, Arkansas 24 Jul 1919. Jenna is the daughter of Halsey Sinclair Hawkins and Jessie Laura Sherrard.

Harold Bruce Welch and Jenna Louise Hawkins had the following child:
