He married Barbara Ann Chisolm in Meade County, Kentucky, 30 Dec 1841. Barbara was born in Kentucky 3 Mar 1823. Barbara was the daughter of John Chisolm and Margaret Tibbs. Barbara died 13 Feb 1902 in Meade County, Kentucky, at 78 years of age.

William Benjamin Allen and Barbara Ann Chisolm had the following child:
