100. Valentine⁸ Allen (Capt. William⁹) was born in St. James Parish, Henrico, Virginia 13 Mar 1727.⁽¹⁶⁷⁾ Valentine died 17 Sep 1799 in Rockingham County, North Carolina, at 72 years of age.

He married Nancy Anne Arnold in Cumberland County, Virginia, 25 Feb 1753.⁽¹⁶⁸⁾ Nancy was born in Goochland County, Virginia ca 1733. Nancy was the daughter of William Arnold. Nancy died ca 1810 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. Her body was interred in Henrico County, Virginia.

Valentine Allen and Nancy Anne Arnold had the following children:

101 i. Elizabeth⁷ Allen⁽¹⁶⁹⁾. She married Elijah Joyce ca 1773.⁽¹⁷⁰⁾

102 ii. William Hunt Allen. He married Agathy Scales 3 Jul 1777.⁽¹⁷¹⁾ Agathy is the daughter of Joseph Scales Sr.

103 iii. Nancy Ann Allen⁽¹⁷²⁾ was born ca 1759. Nancy died 1840 at 81 years of age.⁽¹⁷³⁾ She married Col. Nathaniel Scales 3 Jul 1777.⁽¹⁷⁴⁾ Col. is the son of Joseph Scales Sr.

+ 82 iv. Mary Allen was born ca 1761.

104 v. Valentine S. Allen Jr⁽¹⁷⁵⁾ was born 1 Jan 1764. He married Agnes Whitlock Hogatte.

105 vi. Patty Allen⁽¹⁷⁶⁾. She married Scales.

106 vii. Bency Allen⁽¹⁷⁷⁾. She married Hill.

107 viii. George Allen.

108 ix. Samuel Allen⁽¹⁷⁸⁾ was born 22 Jul 1778. Samuel died 15 Feb 1855 at 76 years of age. He married Ellen Scales ca 1800. Ellen is the daughter of Henry Scales.
