He married Marie Anne Methot in Cap-Saint-Ignace, Montmagny, Quebec, about 1743. Marie was born in Saint Nicholas, Levis, Quebec 10 Jul 1721. Marie was the daughter of Rene Methot and Marie Francoise Lambert.

Claude Fortin and Marie Anne Methot had the following child:
