14. Alexander II³ Romanov (Nicholas I Pavlovich⁴, Paul I Petrovich⁵, Peter III⁶, Charles Frederick⁷ von Holstein-Gottorp, Frederick⁸, Christian Albrecht⁹, Frederick III¹⁰, Johann Adolf¹¹) was born 17 Apr 1818. Alexander died 13 Mar 1881 at 62 years of age.

He married Marie Hesse-Darmstadt 16 Apr 1841. Marie was born 8 Aug 1824. Marie was the daughter of Louis II von Hessen and Wilhelmina von Baden. Marie died 22 May 1880 at 55 years of age.

Alexander II Romanov and Marie Hesse-Darmstadt had the following children:

15 i. Alexandra Alexandrovna² Romanov was born 18 Aug 1842. Alexandra died 28 Jun 1849 at 6 years of age.

16 ii. Nicholas Alexandrovich Romanov was born 8 Sep 1843. Nicholas died 12 Apr 1865 at 21 years of age.

+ 7 iii. Alexander III Romanov was born 26 Feb 1845.

17 iv. Vladimir Alexandrovitch Romanov was born 10 Apr 1847. Vladimir died 4 Feb 1909 at 61 years of age. He married Marie Pavlovna von Mecklenburg 16 Aug 1874. Marie was born 14 May 1854. Marie died 6 Sep 1920 at 66 years of age.

18 v. Alexis Alexandrovich Romanov was born 2 Jan 1850. Alexis died 1 Nov 1908 at 58 years of age. He married Alexandra Zhukovskaya ca 1870. Alexandra was born 1842. Alexandra died 1899 at 57 years of age.

19 vi. Marie Alexandrovna Romanov was born in Tsarskoye Selo, Pushkin, Russia 17 Oct 1853. Marie died 24 Oct 1920 in Zurich, Switzerland, at 67 years of age. She married Alfred Ernest Albert Wettin in St. Petersburg, Russia, 23 Jan 1874. Alfred was born in Windsor, Berkshire, England 6 Aug 1844. Alfred was the son of Albert Augustus Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Queen Victoria Hanover. Alfred died 30 Jul 1900 in Schloss Rosenau, at 55 years of age.

20 vii. Serge Alexandrovitch Romanov was born in Tsarskoye Selo, Pushkin, Russia 11 May 1857. Serge died 17 Feb 1905 at 47 years of age. He married Elizabeth von Hessen in St. Petersburg, Russia, 15 Jun 1884. Elizabeth was born in Bessungen 1 Nov 1864. Elizabeth was the daughter of Louis IV von Hessen-Darmstadt and Alice Maud Mary Wettin. Elizabeth died 17 Jul 1918 in Alapayevsk, Ural Mountains, Russia, at 53 years of age.

21 viii. Paul Alexandrovich Romanov was born 29 Sep 1860. Paul died 29 Jan 1919 in Petrograd, Russia, at 58 years of age. He married twice. He married Alexandra Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg 5 Jun 1889. Alexandra was born 18 Aug 1870. Alexandra was the daughter of William George I Schleswig and Olga Constantinovna Romanov. Alexandra died 12 Sep 1891 at 21 years of age. He married Olga Valerienovna Karnovich 27 Sep 1902. This was a morganatic marriage.

Olga was born 2 Dec 1865. Olga died 2 Sep 1929 at 63 years of age.
