23. Chistian IX³ Schleswig-Holstein (Frederick William⁴, Frederick Karl⁵) was born in Gottorp 8 Apr 1818. Chistian died 29 Jan 1906 in Amalienborg, Copenhagen, Denmark, at 87 years of age.

He married Louise Wilhelmina Hesse-Cassel 26 May 1842. Louise was born in Cassel 7 Sep 1817. Louise was the daughter of William X Hesse-Cassel and Louise Charlotte Oldenburg. Louise died 29 Sep 1898 in Bernstorff, at 81 years of age.

25 ii. Alexandra Schleswig was born in Amalienborg, Copenhagen, Denmark 1 Dec 1844. Alexandra died 20 Nov 1925 in Sandringham, Norfolk, England, at 80 years of age. She married Edward VII Wettin in Windsor Castle, England, 10 Mar 1863. Edward was born in London, London, England 9 Nov 1841. Edward was the son of Albert Augustus Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Queen Victoria Hanover. Edward died 6 May 1910 in London, London, England, at 68 years of age.

26 iii. William George I Schleswig was born in Copenhagen, Denmark 24 Dec 1845. William died 18 Mar 1913 in Salonika, at 67 years of age. He married Olga Constantinovna Romanov. Olga was born 3 Sep 1851. Olga was the daughter of Constantine Nikolaievitch Romanov and Elizabeth Alexandra Saxe-Altenburg. Olga died 18 Jun 1926 at 74 years of age.

27 v. Thyra Amelia Caroline Schleswig-Holstein was born in Copenhagen, Denmark 29 Sep 1853. Thyra died 26 Feb 1933 in Gmunden, Austria, at 79 years of age. She married Ernest Augustus Hanover in Copenhagen, Denmark, 21 Dec 1878. Ernest was born in Hanover, Germany 21 Sep 1845. Ernest was the son of George V Hanover King of Hanover and Marie-Alexandrina Saxe-Altenburg. Ernest died 14 Nov 1923 in Gmunden, Austria, at 78 years of age.

28 vi. Valdemar Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg was born 27 Oct 1858. Valdemar died 14 Jan 1939 at 80 years of age. He married Marie d'Orleans 22 Oct 1885. Marie was born 13 Jan 1865. Marie was the daughter of Robert de Chartres and Francisca d'Orleans. Marie died 4 Dec 1909 at 44 years of age.
