He married Sophia Amelia Brunswick 1 Oct 1643. Sophia was born 24 Mar 1628. Sophia was the daughter of George Brunswick-Luneberg and Anne-Eleanor Hesse-Darmstadt. Sophia died 20 Feb 1685 at 56 years of age.
