| Dance has been
a constant in Patrick Swayze's life since he was a child (his mother,
Patsy, was founder and director of the Houston Jazz-Ballet Company).
This dancer and athlete turned to acting only after an athletic
injury stalled his career as a dancer with the Eliot Feld Ballet
Company. His 1978 performance as Danny Zuko in the musical Grease
brought him to the attention of television and movie producers and
led him to Hollywood. Although he has appeared in more than 30 projects,
he is probably best remembered for his work in 1997's Dirty Dancing
and 1990's Ghost. |
