| Penny Marshall
has successfully made the transition from popular actress
to respected producer and director. Her big break came when
her brother Gary cast her and her friend Cindy Williams as
Laverne and Shirley in an episode of his series Happy Days.
The characters were so popular that they starred in their
own sitcom between 1978 through 1983. Penny has since made
a name for herself as a director of such hits as Big
(1988) and A League of Their Own (1992). |
