He married Sophia Dorothea von Brunswick-Lunenburg Dutchess of Brunswick in Celle Castle, Germany, 21 Nov 1682. Sophia was born in Celle Castle, Germany 10 Sep 1666. Sophia was the daughter of George William von Brunswick-Lunenburg and Eleonore Desmier D'Olbreuse. Sophia died 13 Nov 1726 in Celle, Germany, at 60 years of age.
