1. Robert¹ Mitchum (James Thomas², John Sessions³, Ambrose⁴), son of James Thomas Mitchum and Ann Harriet Gunderson, was born in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Connecticut 6 Aug 1917. He was baptized Robert Charles Durman Mitchum. Robert died 1 Jul 1997 in Santa Barbara County, California, at 79 years of age.⁽¹⁾

He married Dorothy Spence in Delaware, 16 Mar 1940.⁽²⁾ Dorothy was born ca 1919.

Robert Mitchum and Dorothy Spence had the following children:

2 i. James Mitchum was born in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Connecticut 8 May 1941.

3 ii. Christopher Mitchum was born in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California 16 Oct 1943.

4 iii. Petrine Day Mitchum was born in Los Angeles County, California 3 Mar 1952.
