| One of America's
premier pop and jazz singers, Rosemary Clooney was born May 23, 1928 in Maysville, Kentucky. Her impressive career began after she and her sister won an open singing audition at a Cincinnati radio station. She would go on to sing with orchestra bands, host a musical radio show, and star in movies and on television. Upon her death in June 2002, Tony Bennett would say, "She was one of America's finest pop vocalists, with a clear, pure voice filled with warmth and sincerity." |
