Sunny and
Claus von Bulow seemed
to be a fairy-tale couple: rich, handsome, cultured. Shortly after
the birth of their daughter, however, the marriage began to disintegrate.
This disintegration eventually led to Claus playing the leading
character in what has become known as one of the "trials of the
century." Accused of attempting to murder Sunny by injecting her
with insulin, he was convicted and then acquitted of the murder.
Still, there has always remained a shadow of a doubt about his
innocence. The case was the basis for the movie "Reversal
of Fortune" and marked the first time a trial was broadcast
on television.
