2. Thomas Alva² Edison (Samuel Ogden³, Samuel Ogden⁴, John⁵) was born in Milan, Erie, Ohio 11 Feb 1847. Thomas died 18 Oct 1931 in West Orange, Essex, New Jersey, at 84 years of age.

He married twice. He married Mary Stillwell 25 Dec 1871. Mary was born in Newark, New Jersey 6 Sep 1855. Mary was the daughter of Nicholas Stillwell and Margaret Crane. Mary died 9 Aug 1884 at 28 years of age. He married Mina Miller 24 Feb 1886. Mina was the daughter of Lewis Miller and Mary Valinda Alexander. Mina died 24 Aug 1947.

Thomas Alva Edison and Mary Stillwell had the following children:

3 i. Marion Estelle¹ Edison was born 18 Feb 1872. Marion died 16 Apr 1965 at 93 years of age. She married Karl Oeser 1892.

4 iii. William Leslie Edison was born 26 Oct 1878. William died 10 Aug 1935 at 56 years of age. He married Blanche Travers.

6 v. Charles Edison was born in Glenmont, New Jersey 3 Aug 1890. Charles died 1969 at 78 years of age. He married Carolyn Hawkins in Fort Myers, Florida, 27 Mar 1918.

7 vi. Theodore Edison was born in Glenmont, New Jersey 10 Jul 1898. Theodore died 25 Nov 1992 in West Orange, Essex, New Jersey, at 94 years of age. He married Anna Maria Osterhout.
