2. Thomas² Lincoln (Abraham¹) was born 6 Jan 1778. Thomas died 17 Jan 1851 in near Farmington, Illinois, at 73 years of age.

He married Nancy Hanks in Beech Creek, Washington, Kentucky, 12 Jun 1806. Nancy was born in Cambell Co., Virginia 5 Feb 1784. Nancy was the daughter of James Hanks and Lucy Shipley. Nancy died 5 Oct 1818 in Gentryville, Indiana, at 34 years of age.

Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks had the following child:

3 i. Abraham³ Lincoln was born in near Hodgenville, Kentucky 12 Feb 1809. Abraham died 15 Apr 1865 in Washington, D.C., at 56 years of age. He married Mary Todd in Springfield, Illinois, 4 Nov 1842. Mary was born in Lexington, Kentucky 13 Dec 1818. Mary died 16 Jul 1882 in Springfield, Illinois, at 63 years of age. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, is best known for the fact that his presidency was during the Civil War. His death was a shock to the nation.
