Like I said in the beginning, I don't think anyone can help. That name is just to common.
I couldn't find my dad's paternal line until a male cousin did a DNA test. It turned out the 1900 census record had my ancestor 10 years older than he was and he was going by his middle name instead of his first.
John Anderson's age on the 1880 census is more like 25 but that is debatable and doesn't really matter. Whether it is my John Anderson or not I still can't find him or the John Anderson on the 1900 census before 1880. We did the Y-DNA test but so far matched no one close enough.
