Re: length of stay in hospital, length of service
There is no 'typical' hospital stay.People were sent to the hospital tent for many types of conditions: wounds, disease in great variety.

There is no 'typical' or 'average' length of service.Men enlisted in the Continentals for 9 months, a year, 3 years, 'for the war'.
Michael Rigal / Riggle was last paid for July 1777 and was not on the Aug. 1777 payroll.Possibly he had enlisted for a year.
