I have some old letters from a cousin who was told by my great grandmother that her "half-brother, Brainard Curl died @ Libby Prison from starvation".However I'm not certain this is correct as he would have been only about 15 yrs old.Brainard had an older half-brother named John Curl who was in his mid-30s during the Civil War yrs. This family was from Indiania.Records indicate that a John Curl was in the infantry and died May 25, 1864 at Andersonville from "diarrhea".He apparently had served with the Sixth Regiment Indiana Volunteers Company E.I keep wondering if "old memories faded" for my great grandmother and she simply remembered "the wrong brother serving/dying" . . . ???
