Some old family letters state that "Brainard Curl died of starvation @ Libby Prison".He would have been only about 15 yrs old though. He did have an older half-brother, named John Curl.Civil War records indicate that a John Curl died on May 25, 1864 while a prisoner at Andersonville.Cause of death:Diarrhea.John and Brainard were both from Indiana.John served with the Sixth Regiment Indiana Volunteer InfantryCompany E.
Did "old memories" fade . . . if so, info regarding Brainard Curl is wrong, as NO records can be found of him serving in the Civil War, however he "vanishes after 1860 too.
