1) I use FTM 2005.As background info, years ago, I put everything into PAF.Then in 2002, I imported everything from PAF to AFT thinking I would upload my findings then into Ancestry.com. But AFT was dated, and, I wanted to take advantage of the latest software with the privatizing features, and, I saw FTM 2005 listed as the latest version.So I downloaded it, imported from AFT, and created the website with it. Everything seemed to go smoothly (in that FTM created the website by structuring the surnames, photo's and sources while I created the home page). But, when I tried to update changes to my page ... none occurred.
2) I inferred from the representations made via the website at both Ancestry.com and Genealogy.com that the two sites are affiliated.Thus, it made sense to upload a family website to one or the other as it appeared that I would receive coverage at both(?).Are they not affiliated?
3) After I bought FTM 2005, I was immediately taken to another page and offered the 2006 version!If I had known that it was available, I would have bought that instead!
4) You asked me to specify what happened, EXACTLY, when I last updated my User Home Page from within the Family Tree Maker program?First, all changes to entries were corrective in nature:e.g., adding in a date of death where known, other sources confirming data, or simply changing errors.One thing I found AFTER I uploaded the initial site, was that FTM took the file creation date for the AFT program (May 2002) and arbitrarily assigned it as the date of birth for all persons in the FTM file that did not have a DOB specified.So, I had to go through the entire file and change all of those errors.ONCE I made these changes, I went to the Internet menu in FTM and selected the "update or edit my home page" pull down menu item.I presumed that this menu item means "update the entire website".I have come to learn that it may not, and that it may only mean, "update or change only the home page itself ... and not the surname index, and sources, etc.Is this correct?If it is, what can I do ... delete the entire site and upload it all over again with the correct info?
5) Well, I can see now from your response, that I must be accessing the search features of Ancestry.com since I am using FTM 2005.It has the "built in" web search button (very useful) I referred to.I just tested it.The web search button invokes the birth and death records, SSAN index, etc and stays within the FTM program.When I invoke the "VIEW RECORD ONLINE" button, it takes me to Ancestry.com to continue the search.THIS IS CONFUSING.The URL for my home page is at Genealogy.com.Why does FTM not search that site, or, does Genealogy.com perform only certain functions while Ancestry.com performs others?Or, is it the case that the makers of FTM choose Genealogy.com as a host site and that Genealogy.com otherwise has nothing to do with the makers of FTM?

8) You refer to a very simple way to contact Technical Support as pretty straight forward and you refer to clicking on ?Help at the top of this page to find an Email Genealogy.com tab.I did that.It invokes the find an answer tab.Per your response, I now notice the Email Genealogy.com tab next to the Find an Answer tab.You're right, it is straightforward.The Find an Answer tab leads one to believe that his/her answer (Emailing you in this case) will be found there.It is not.And once one starts down the path of following the information on the Find an Answer page, it distracts one's attention from the Email tab.It's my fault and I am wrong but it is confusing as constructed.
9) I did not post any Online Reports or Books or GEDCOM (Internet Trees) on my original website posting because I was not sure that they would be automatically privatized and I did not have time to construct them to my satisfaction.I infer from your response that this is requisite to even find the site?
