Tom,
- Please provide details about "I tried to update changes to my page ... none occurred". What did you update? What should have changed? Did you see a normal upload with a blue progress bar and an 15 minute message (the 15 minutes is misleading). By the way 2006 has been out for a year.
- Ancestry.com and Genealogy.com (including Family Tree Maker) and others, are all a part of MyFamilyInc.com. Please see About us at the bottom of this page. The Family Tree Maker program works with the Family Tree Maker user home pages. Yes, you can generate a GEDCOM and I suspect upload it to Ancestry.com. I don't use that, only the Family Tree Maker User Home Page.
- Thank you ... last updated 08/08/06
- If you had checked the guarentee, I think you would have found that if there was an upgrade within a certain number of days from purchase, you could have gotten the update. I don't try to follow those legal, sales issues. Sorry.
- The Update your Home Page will update the MyFamilyHistory section of your file. I didn't see any other reports, but if you had reports on that page, you would have had to update them seperately. The entire MyFamilyHistory section WILL be updated. However, it does take time for that to complete. Again, the 15 minute message is missleading.
- Yes, 2005 and 2006 used the Online Subscriptions at Ancestry.com. So, if you View Record Online, you will be looking at Ancestry.com. Again, the companies mentioned are not seperate companies, but are under an umbrella company. Each has online subscriptions but 2005 and 2006 uses the Ancestry.com subscriptions.
- Sounds like you purchased 2005 from Ancestry.Com. I am sure that they sell it. My guess is that there was probaby an Ancestry.Com subscription.
- Again, I don't try to follow the 'bundles'. If you purchased that bundle from Ancestry.Com, you probably have access to all of their Online Subscriptions. You'll have to read more about what you purchased. And again, Ancestry.com and Genealogy.com have their own Online Subscriptions. You can access the Genealogy.com Online Subscriptions from Genealogy.com and from these GenForums.
- Email Genealogy.com is a form that you fill out, and incident report will be created, response sent to you, with a follow up from a person. AND you can check the status on the My Stuff Tab.
- If you want to Privatize a report or tree, you need to create that report and privatize the file before you Post It. The MyFamilyHistory / Update, will ask you if you want it privatized. The Privatize feature is on the File menu.
